Is this just a piggy back system or can it do the functions of say a microtech or other computers?

It's a full ECU. It's a pug in replacement for the factory ECU and can be used to make all sorts of cool changes just like other aftermarket ECUs (microtech etc). On the upside it plugs in and uses standard sensors etc so no chopping looms, making your car a pain in the arse to return to normal etc.

I'm going to use daughterboards in mine to run my Z32 AFM and 550cc SARDs. Cheap and effective with this particular combo. The only thing with a Power FC (and perhaps with the other brand plugins, i think autronic does one to) is that on a engine swap sometimes the Power FC will have trouble saving it's maps after they are changed, this is due to a wire that the Power FC uses (but that isn't needed on the stock ECU) being used to provide power or somesuch to save the settings. Be carefull of this. Easy to fix, hard to work out what needs fixing.

I have that problem with my Power FC now, so when i rewire my other S12 i will be hooking up every wire just to make sure it will save the data

Where do you guys get ur A'PEXI computers tuned? Or do you road tune it yourselves? but id imagine it would have to see a dyno at some point. I cannot fault microtec and value for money i wouldnt go past it. And im pretty sure if mircotec can run my car, smoothly as a daily driver and a animal when i race, it can handle any job. So easy to tune, and it can be done by the majority of tuners.
