D-DAY Practice.
Venue: Oran Park Raceway
Date: Saturday 2nd of April 2005. Gates open at 8:00, drifting at 9.00
Drift driver entry: $100 for IDA members; $130 for non-members
CAMS day licence: $20
Spectator gate entry: $10
Come along with as many tyres as you can carry, and enjoy a whole day's worth of drifting on multiple layouts at Oran Park's Driftland.
We'll be switching between the technical short course and the high speed figure eight layouts, so everyone from beginners to advanced will have something to challenge themselves with.
Don't forget that the next round of the IDA D-Day Championship will be held on the same track, and so will the Sydney round of the Full Lock Drift Nationals! Get in some practice for the competitions!
Your car will be scrutineered by a CAMS official for safety, so ensure your car has working brakes and steering, undamaged seatbelts, no fluid leaks, secure seats and a properly clamped down battery etc. Any harnesses and roll cages must be safely installed. Any car failing scrutineering must be repaired to the satisfaction of the scrutineer before being allowed onto the circuit. All drivers must attend the briefing at 9.00 before being allowed out onto the circuit.
The driver wil need to wear neck to ankle to wrist, non-synthetic clothing (cotton long sleeve shirt, jeans and leather shoes are OK).
You will either need a CAMS L2NS licence or higher. If you do not hold a CAMS licence, a day licence can be purchased for $20 on the morning.
To register, go HERE and click the "Register Now" button. Payment up front will secure you a place, and a quick sign up on the morning.

I should be there, i'd like to get my power steering in a less leaky state first but S12 power steering always seems to blow up after extended periods at high RPM....i'm probably going to make a new line and fix it once and for all instead of continually replacing it with second hand gear. Either way it should be ok

Not sure, i don't think so, i think it's a pressure thing. Either way i think a new line should fix it. I might try insulating the reservoir etc though. It doesnt seem that drifters use power steering coolers usually, the S12/S13 system as far as i've seen in mags is quite often heavily insulated or underdriven. Thats my course of action anyways . We'll see tho i've been wrong before.
