Yet another awesome article from autospeed about a way to get more out of a stock AFM without an upgrade. autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/article.html?&A=2424In particular us SR boys are limited by the tiny AFM nissan decided to use. In essance the article talks about using a second non metered pipe into the turbo inlet and calibrating the afm to run the right fuel to compensate for the extra air. It can be done without an ecu upgrade by using a kit from Jaycar which modifies the afm signal the same way as an safc does. The kit costs about 160 bucks with the hand controller. Awesome bang for buck upgrade, and a great alternative to a z32 unit if you dont plan to run above 350hp. NOTE: afr modifiers on this setup need to be tuned on a dyno as its not a linear tune. Ie: the more load the engine is under the more air will pass through the non metered side as the afm backs up with pressure. Power fcs and other programmable ecus will be even easier to set up for this. Even with an hour on the dyno you can essentially open up your intake for $500 bucks. Perfect if you want to run more boost.
