Hey Fc owners, I'm looking to get the exhaust done on my car from tip to turbo, just wondering if anyone would recommend anyone to do the job in the newcastle area, also just wondering on what sort of economy everyone else gets? giving the car heaps? taking it easy? I didn't buy the car for economy, but mine just doesn't seem right @ 20 -25ltrs per 100km, I repaired my wiper switch too so now I have all wiper settings, I'm guessing there'd be a few of you with that problem too, but does anyone have or had a problem with the dash lights flicking on or off??

plus, when driving my car (stock fc... well too what I know) changing down gears, from 3rd to second if I'm doing medium revs the wheels will lock and the car tends to start sliding sideways (compression lock... for only a short distance though) but does anyone have to same thing happen when driving?

rotarys just love the fuel!! i cruse around in mine all week n get by on about 50/60 buck but if im given it a belt it could use this in 1 day your exhaust is a good 1 all u need is a new dump pipe n rotarys dont really like cat converters just get a fake 1 if u want 2 be legal u could get a hi flow cat but cause it is on a rotary it wont have any warranty and it will probably melt it anyway with all the unburnt fuel they pump out

I have a sV and i average 15-16 litres per 100 kms. Thats with a mixure of flogging (very rarely i put my foot to the floor) n cruising. Thats with a 3inch exhaust, POD, and running around 14-16 psi at most.
If your going to get an exhaust, prepare for a lot of problems to arise$$$. One common problem with freeing up the exhaust is that your boost will increase and will hit fuel cut. So you might want to look into a Fuel cut defender beforehand.
Also after you have dealt with the fuel cut, you might find out yo ur wastegate wont be able to "waste" quick enuff hence resulting in major boost spiking (more common in s4s). This will have to be fixed by getting an external wastegate in which i think fat13b (Jesse) has done to his car or getting your stock turbo's wastegate ported.
With the down shifting I havent had that problem.

btw. i have a 3 inch Y shaped dump. The dump houses 2x2.25inch pipes, each pipe with a cat on it exiting thru to rear mufflers.

I feel like the exhaust is very restrictive at the moment, its just the standard system with a cat back 3" pipe and cannon, the car seems to go better easing the throtle nice and slow rather than a bit firmer especially in the higher revs, it doesn't hesitate or anything just seems to feel gut less, I'm not sure if this is how the car is or if its a problem, the car is basically stock, it has a blitz LM pod filter, cat back exhaust system, and a blitz blow off valve, running .4bar(max) of boost, it has a real crappy idle on startup (cold)... note too jarrod - idle has seemed to settle down when the car is warm but when it is cold it jumps up and down and often stalls, I just read something about APS adjustment, it can cause bad idle and cause back firing, - any ideas on that? thinking of taking the car to someone to check it over, and check the tune of it, only had the car for over a month so still learning...
