In terms of a performance store in Newcastle.. What kind of things would you like to see available. Would you want to see stock? Would you like membership based packages with benifits??
Need some ideas guys

Keep stock to a minimum you can't please everyone. Just provide access to quality goods with good information and advice which is usually sadly lacking. Most "speed shops" are just "SuperCheap" clones.

Do your research, Justjap seems to be making a killing out of cheap chinese clone parts... if you can offer alternatives at a price thats competitive youll do well, but you won't do it within a shop. There are too many overheads to think of. You would need to sell cheap stuff too to offset periods of quiet business and bargain hunters. Online is the only way you can compete price wise for a parts only store.
On the other hand if your business model was based around a mechanics workshop with a shopfront keeping performance parts, Jap rims, import cars parts etc it could work quite well. Youd need to make the business multifaceted so each category offset the other. Look at the toyshop... theyre doing quite well with a similar business model but theyre very focused on certain models of import cars, parts and dont have much in the way of new performance parts. Newcastle is small with very few cashed up import enthusiasts and no track. The true performance market will be very limited so youll need to cater to the local ricers also. Maybe offering finance options?...
Just some thoughts
