Tyres are always a problem for drifters, spend weeks collecting then in one day they are all gone. Since finding certain sizes can be a bit of a pain i propose the Royal Tyre Pool (tm). When people go scrounging tyre piles for tyres, if you can, grab good tyres of sizes that might be of use to others. Then we can post here and do Royal Swapsies or help each other out. A few general rules of tyre hunting. 1) All the tyres on a worn out tyre pile are there for a reason, find the reason before you take the tyre (ie carcass damage etc), the best tyres are ones that are from a rotten wheel alignment, really worn on one shoulder but otherwise next to new. Lots of tread . 2) Keep an eye out for retreads (you can see the line where the new cap is joined on). 3) If you find 2 or 3 of one type tyre keep looking, there is probably a full set of 4 in there somewhere. Now some sizes are of little use no matter how good they are, the sizes that silvia sized cars use are as follows, the rest of you will have to post what sizes suit hachi etc. Silvia: 234x45x17 common, commodore tyre 225x45x17 not seen many 225x50x16 not as common as i'd like 225x55x16 falcon tyre? commonish, a little larger than standard tyres 205x55x16 as above 205x65x15 common but not very grippy 205x60x15 as above

Also thought i might add this to my thread i've been writing down info about my tyres i used at the last drift day. Obviously I'll use whatever comes my way but this info might be usefull in deciding which tyres to use in practice and which to save for comps etc. I have no info on grip apart from that most of the 17s i use seem to be pretty good, although some are a little sliprier than others but grip changes with heat and wear as well so it might be hard to say one thing about a tyres grip capabilities. I'll be paying more attention to this in future. This is my notes i'll be updating this in future . Jarich's Drift Tyre Data Note: Car is running significant rear camber, 3 to 4 degrees. Where i have written comment 1 and 2 is separate experiences with these tyres. Type: Nexan N3000 Size: 235x45x17 Comments: Good wear, some chunking of tread Type: Falken Zeix ZE-326 Size: 235x45x17 Comments: Good wear, very smooth wear Type: Silverstone FTZ Sport Size: 235x45x17 Comments 1: Smooth wear, partial delamination Comments 2: Little wear before delamination Monoform Cheetah Size: 234x45x17 Comments: Partial delamination, worn through steel belts and blown.
