NSW motorists snapped by a speed or red light camera can now go online to check the photographic proof. Roads Minister Eric Roozendaal said the new feature on the State Debt Recovery Office's website promised to quickly end arguments over who was driving. "From today, motorists who have received an infringement from a speed camera or red light camera can go online to view the photo taken at the time of the offence," Mr Roozendaal said in a statement. "Motorists who have received an infringement can now go online to view the photo, allowing them to verify it was their vehicle. "Viewing the image may assist the owner in nominating the actual driver at the time, to ensure the right person gets the infringement and demerit points." Both a penalty notice and a vehicle registration number is required to access the photos, as well as an automatically-generated random code for added security. Mr Roozendaal said people without internet access could still request a copy of the photo. NSW Law Society president Hugh Macken welcomed the move, saying it replaced the previous "cumbersome" process of applying in writing to see the photos. "If you are accused of wrongdoing you have a right to see the evidence and this website makes that process fast, efficient and unequivocal," he said. The website is available by logging on to www.sdro.nsw.gov.au and following the links www.smh.com.au/news/technolog...121227738.htmlthis is great IMO,
