2 thumbs up to Phil for another fine job with my exhaust. He found me a metal core cat which flows about 750cfm. Massive difference to power and spool up time. Its only a few 100rpm lagier than with no cat at all... used to be nearly 1000rpm with a standard type high flow 3" from my last one. Even with stock boost theres quite a big increase in tourque through the whole rev range, especially above 4000rpm. Still nothing to shout about but it made a huge improvement over stock. It feels good to have a decent exhaust again. Now to get more air into the motor and make my "high flow airbox"

yeah, wallsend mufflers FTW. Phill owns all other exhaust places, none can match his knowledge and experiance when it comes to exhaust systems!

Update on exhaust. just warning everyone who is buying/considering buying x-force stuff: they are fairly poor quality. Apart from the bolt holes for the turbo not lining up, both flanges on the dump/front pipe i got were warped from the welding and werent machine finished. Now theres exhaust leaks at both ends of it and needs to be removed and machined before put back together. oh the fun begins...

yea phil is a good bloke. i had a leak in my exhaust somewhere near the dump and i had a few exhaust shops check it out...one shop checked it out thru the engine bay and another put it up on the hoist but both came to the conclusion i needed a new gasket. It was only phils thorough work that found out it was actually a crack in the piping. Luckily i didnt go out and buy a gasket from mazda (which would have cost me in the $100 range) and do the work myself. My gasket was actually in great condition. He rewelded up the crack and only charged me a fraction of what i had expected it wouldve been. A+
