Well its late (for me it is) and i had a thought. Would it be beneficial for Royal Drift and the MG car club if some/all of its members became CAMS Officials to some capacity. I think it might help to show that there is enough enthusiasm within the community clubs(ie more then 1 club) for a race track of sorts to be located within the Hunter area. Since Oran Park will be no more in a short time, apart from Eastern Creek what else does the hunter enthusiast have "Wakefield" which is 5 hrs away. I think Drift and GymKhanas will grow rapidly with-in the area if sensible knowledgable people organise and promote wat is a safe and sound motorsport if prepared properly. And if built right, the track should be able to serve many functions, not just grip and drift events. Bringing money in from outside areas, which will boost economy. Just a thought i had. Does it make sense, i hope so. Cheers Steve Very sagatious, Steve! I think that means im clever, gee's thanx If you have connections with MG club, maybe you could be spokes person for us, with advice from Royal Drift Board of course. But as Ellis has stated, lets see if MG get's the go ahead first then ATTACK! Cheers Steve

Honestly they should have no issues if the drift club is Cams affiliated as it stands now there is already one drift club in being IDA and perhaps another one on the way in the next couple of months but these things all take time. and foe the MG car club to take anything seriously needs to be undertaken from an official club not just a group of friends who chat on the net. Eastern Creek should be a good example since there is now specific drift events on the main course, Drift Australia are holding a a round there later this year.

Whether the track does get a go-ahead or not. I suggest still approach them for affiliation. Can only do positive. In the Newcastle region, the MG Club is prolly the biggest auto enthusia club, well the most officially organised at least, and they are responsible for the few small autosport events that do happen in this region (although it sounds some members abhor any excess wheelspin - but each to their own: Jackie Stewart was known for drifiting when racing and I'm sure those guys think he is credible)....

I think we are more than friends who chat on the net i didn’t mean to offend anyone by that comment just seeing it from there perspective, i am going on other responses that people have had with drifters trying to organise stuff with clubs and not even given the light of day.

yeah that it it is the people that get up there and have a go at asking that make the difference. i love the idea of have a drift track in my back yard basicly. I dont know the real percentage of drifters around the hunter or central coast but if there is a chance to drift a new track people will come.

I wanna see singapore/malay women lol.
You need alot of funding and dollars to do anything in motorsport that is "official". Such ashame. I dont know why being an enthusiast club has to be always looked down on, just because we dont have the money as a collective to organise/hire things. I am not too fond of a few members of the MG clubs views from what I have heard here and there... But then again in general I dont like arrogance of any sort about anything.

I believe motorsport clubs who have power, should encourage and assist others who have a passion for such things. If I ever win the lottery or find myself a super-rich sugarmummi, I am going to establish one and make things how they ought to be.....
