Well last weekend was round 1 of this years comp.
Wakefeild park was the venue.
Came into the weekend feeling pretty bored and feeling tired, but the practice sessions soon got me out of that.. It was fun showing off to the crowd in practice and warm up laps, drifting the first corner off the limiter hahaha
After the wakefeild enduro i handed the car back with it feeling not too healthy.. And last weekend the car was still feeling a bit funny.. We put it on the Lotus engine scan tool and things weren't right.. So they put a new program in and it seemed to be ok agian.. But my times were still a bit poor only managing a best of 1m 10.1 all weekend. I qualifyied 3rd fastest in grp B. with the same cars seemingly pulling away from me down the straight.
So race one was a good start but the first lap diving into the fish hook i had been pushed to the outside by stupid grp A drivers and ended up in the dirt.. Then i regained to be stuck behind somone slower, and on the next lap i was into the same corner agian, but this time a guy had spun in front of me and i couldn't stop in time. SO smacked him in the side. Had to come in and pit.. to pull the dangling indicator off and i rejoined a lap down. Finished off that race by just trying to outlap myself which i did to a few people.. i remember an awesome dive past 2 people under brakes into the last turn!
So then race 2's grid position was shot again by the stupid reverse grid according to qualifying..( they are chaging that rule for the next round!)
made no sense.. anyway i started off at the back of the feild. And made my way up to 3rd in class for race 2.
Then race 3 was SO farken awesome.. such great dicing between me and the top cars.. Multiple position changes and great racing made me come out of that race thinking that it would have been really exciting to watch!
So i was leading for a while but i was borked by a prick in grp A covering his line.. and the winner slipped past me..
ALSO, last turn i spun because of that driver agian! but i still managed a 2nd place finish for that race and also the weekend.. So as it stands i am second in the championship so far. I also won the hard charger award for taking 6 positions in the last race.
So all in all not a bad result for a slow car.
I miss out on going to Winton which is on this weekend.. because i couldn't afford the extra $5000 it would cost for me to enter. Due to the major sponsor pulling out.. But I can drop my worst round.. which will have to be Winton. And i will continue as normal at eastern creek in july.
